The Death Reports (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates thedeathreports.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

\n\n\n\nContact and request forms
\n\n\n\nWhen you submit a removal, correction or other request via our on-site forms, we collect your name, email address, your stated relationship to the subject, the URL you are concerned about, and the details of your request. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address solely to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. We never store your IP address in plain text.
\n\n\n\nServer logs
\n\n\n\nOur web server automatically records standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and used only for security and performance monitoring.
\n\n\n\nCookies
\n\n\n\nWe use essential cookies required for the site to function (session management, security tokens, and caching via LiteSpeed). We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If you have consented, we may set an analytics cookie via Google Analytics (see below).

\n\n\n\nGoogle Analytics — We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. \n\n\n\nLiteSpeed Cache — Our hosting provider uses LiteSpeed to cache and serve pages quickly. It may set a cookie to track your cache preferences. No personal data is shared with LiteSpeed beyond what is necessary for caching.

\n\n\n\nRemoval and correction request data is retained for as long as necessary to process your request and for legal compliance, then deleted. Server logs are deleted after 30 days. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form in accordance with Google’s data retention settings.

\n\n\n\nDepending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at editors@thedeathreports.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
