Ken Krawetz

Ken Krawetz, a fixture in Saskatchewan politics for more than two decades, died on October 1, 2026, at the age of 75. His death closes a chapter on a career that saw him rise from a Liberal MLA to a deputy premier and one of the founding members of the Saskatchewan Party. Born in Saskatchewan on April 15, 1951, Krawetz first won a seat in the provincial legislature in 1995.

He represented the Canora-Pelly constituency and was known for his steady presence in the assembly. In 1997, he joined the Saskatchewan Party, which was newly formed that year, and became one of its most recognizable figures.
