Kadir İnanır, Turkey’s iconic film actor, passed away on Friday in Istanbul at the age of 77. Known for his roles in beloved melodramas and social realist films, he became a symbol of Yeşilçam, Turkey's golden age of cinema. İnanır had been hospitalized since May 13 at the Ümraniye Teaching and Research Hospital due to severe lung cancer and pneumonia. Tragically, he succumbed to multiple organ failure at 6:05 p.m. local time, according to Turkey's Anadolu news agency, citing hospital officials. İnanır was born on April 15, 1949, in Fatsa, Ordu province. He moved to Istanbul for school and later graduated from Marmara University's communications faculty.
