Dr. Prezell R. Robinson, the longtime former president of Saint Augustine’s University who helped shape generations of students and transform one of the nation’s oldest historically Black colleges, has died at the age of 105.
Robinson passed away peacefully on June 29, according to his family. His death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from alumni, educators and community leaders who remembered him as a visionary leader whose influence stretched far beyond the campus in Raleigh, North Carolina.
