David Lucas Cañizares, known in Spanish public life as David Lucas, was a Spanish conservative politician of the People's Party who built a career across regional and national levels of Spanish politics in Castilla-La Mancha and at the national party coordination level, serving as a senator representing Albacete and as the national coordinator for relations with territorial institutions for the People's Party, roles that placed him at important intersections of Spain's complex territorial political structure. He died on 3 August 2026 in Albacete at the age of 58 after an illness.
