Albert Horsfall died on September 11, 2026, aged 84. The Nigerian intelligence officer directed the National Intelligence Agency from 1986 to 1990 and the State Security Service from 1990 to 1992. Horsfall, also known as Albert Korubo Horsfall, was born on December 22, 1941, in Buguma in present-day Rivers State.
He was a pioneer member of the National Security Organization, the umbrella intelligence body created in 1986 that later split into the NIA and the SSS. Before rising through Nigeria's security services, Horsfall served as a police officer.
