Paulien Cornelisse, the Dutch writer and television host, died on September 30, 2026, at the age of 50. Her passing was confirmed by her family in a statement released yesterday. Born in Amsterdam in 1976, Cornelisse built a career spanning writing, cabaret, podcasting, and television.
She became widely recognized for her 2009 book Taal is zeg maar echt mijn ding, which sold more than half a million copies and earned the Platina boek award in 2013. Her wit and sharp insights in that book made her a household name in the Netherlands.
