Seela Sella, one of Finland’s most respected actresses, died on September 28, 2026, at the age of 89. Her death was confirmed by her representatives in Helsinki. Born Seela Maini Marjatta Virtanen in Tampere on December 30, 1936, Sella’s career spanned more than 60 years.
She appeared in nearly 35 film and television productions. Her work with director Timo Koivusalo included films such as Sibelius and Kalteva torni.
