Michele Sensi-Contugi was an Italian-born Ecuadorian politician and government official who served in senior roles in the Ecuadorian national government after building his career in South America following his emigration from Italy, and who died in a helicopter crash near Quito in February 2024, along with other senior officials, at the age of 63, at a moment when Ecuador was experiencing the severe security crisis that led to President Daniel Noboa's declaration of an internal armed conflict in January 2024.
