Donald Edward Newhouse was an American businessman and media executive who served as co-owner and co-chairman of Advance Publications, one of the largest privately held media companies in the United States. Born on August 5, 1929, in Lambertville, New Jersey, he was the son of publishing magnate Samuel Irving Newhouse Sr. and spent his career alongside his brother S.I. Newhouse Jr. expanding the family media empire, which encompasses Condé Nast Publications and a portfolio of major newspapers and digital outlets. He attended Syracuse University.
He was married to Susan Marley from 1955 until her death in 2015. Donald Newhouse died on May 26, 2026, in New York. He was 96.
